Science

This term, we will be learning about how we can keep ourselves healthy.

Lesson 1:

Start by writing down what you already know about how to keep healthy.

Then, go around your house and collect lots of food (check with Mum or Dad first!). Sort the food into different groups depending on how healthy you think it is.

Then, go on this website to learn more about different food groups.

Lesson 2:

Research these different food types. Which foods fit into each group? What are the benefits you get from eating each different type of food?

Fats

Carbohydrates

Fibre

Protein

Then, print and cut out some of these top trumps cards and play the game!

Lesson 3

Find lots of food packets around your house. Look at the nutritional information on each packet. Try to put the packets in order from least healthy to most healthy.

Is there just 1 way of doing this? Are there different ways to order the packets?
