Have a go at one or all of the activities listed below linked to the theme of Rocks.
Story of a rock

Watch this cartoon version of the ‘story of a rock cycle‘ for inspiration. Then have a go at writing your own version. You could present this as a comic book or even having a go at using stop frame to produce your own animated version.
Grow your own crystals.

Watch the video which sets out a simple step by step process to follow to grow your own crystals. You will need: fine table salt (Epsom if possible); a jar; some water; a spoon; some food colouring; and a measuring cup.

Want a challenge? Try out using different colourings to get a variety of colours of crystals or, if you place a piece of wire into your jar, you can create different shapes by curving and shaping the wire.
Fossil art

Watch the video which sets out a simple step by step process to follow to grow your own beautiful faux fossils. Watch the video through at least once before attempting your own artwork. You will need: a canvas panel or some stiff card; thin wire or pipe cleaners; pastels or poster paints; PVA glue; and tissue paper or kitchen towels.
