Science
Choose one or try all of the activities listed below for creative activities all linked to the theme of Seasonal Change.
-
Make a changing seasons college:
Follow the instructions set out on the ‘Changing Seasons College Activity sheet’ to help you create a picture that you can change with each season. You will need: cardboard (you could use a cereal box); glue; paper; natural items such as twigs, grass, and leaves; acetate or clear plastic wallet; scissors; and a pencil.
-
Write a poem for all seasons:
Using the template below, create an acrostic seasons poem describing your favourite season and what you like to do in that season. If you can’t choose your favourite, write a poem for each of the seasons!
-
Seasons Song:
Listen along to the song and then have a go at singing with the lyrics. Once you have learnt the song, why not try putting some actions to the words. You could even get your whole family involved and video the final performance!
Maths/ Art
Watch the video below (by clicking on the link) to learn about symmetry. Can you find some shapes that are symmetrical? Then, maybe you can make a symmetrical butterfly picture?
Geography
In this lesson, we are going to be virtually flying to South America which is in the southern hemisphere. First, we will be filling our brains with facts about the population and how many countries are in South America. Then, we will be learning about the physical features on this continent. We will then be looking at the Amazon rainforest.
