Here are some activities for you to do in the last week of term.

Watch the video below (by clicking on the link) and then get outside and explore! How many different shapes can you find outside?

Choose one or try all of the activities listed below for creative activities all liked to the theme of .Plants'.

 

  • Build a terrarium: 

Watch this video where Miss Simkin sets out how to make simple rainforest in a bottle! You will need: a plastic jar or bottle, small rocks, potting soil, small plants or seedlings. 

 

  • Create hammered flower prints: 

Follow the step by step instructions but take great care when hammering as fingers can get hurt! Only collect fallen leaves or flowers. You will need: flowers or leaves to print; paper; hammer; hard work surface (cutting board, slab of wood, etc.); paper towels; scissors; a pen; tweezers or toothpicks. 

 

  • Grow a grass head: 

 Watch the video outlining how to create your own funny grass head to care for over the summer – don’t forget to give him or her a haircut every now and then! You will need: Old tights/ stockings; compost; grass seeds; rubber band or thread; for decorating – googly eyes, felt; and a pot for your grass head to sit in!
