Other Curriculum Areas
On this page, you will find a range of activities for different subjects. These are extra ideas which could be done after English and Maths each day - maybe in the afternoons. Each week, choose one piece of learning that your child is especially proud of, take a photo of it and email to the Year 1 email address.
Art
You could create some art inspired by Andy Goldsworthy.
Create your own picture or pattern with natural materials by using things you find. Go on a walk or look in your garden. Gather some small items together – leaves, petals, grasses, pebbles (don’t break bits off of trees or plants please!). Then, arrange your items to make a pattern or picture. You could take photos of your work to share.

Science
At the start of Year 1, you learnt lots about the weather. How much can you remember? Are you a weather expert? Have a go at this lesson by clicking on the link below to test your skills.
Before you start the lesson, think about the 4 seasons. Can you name them? What is the weather like during each season? What were you wearing? What things did you do? Can you remember any special events that happen during each seasons?

When you have finished, you could write a weather report about the weather where you are today.
Geography
In this lesson we are going to be learning about the seven continents. We are going to learn what a Geographer is and how important they are. We will be looking at the seven continents, comparing their size and location on our planet. We will then be learning all about what the equator is.
You will need a piece of paper and a pencil for this lesson.
