Term 5 Week 5

Maths - Money

This week, we will be converting between pounds and pence and solving problems involving money. It would be a good idea to search the house and find some 'real' money to use to help you this week.

First, make sure you can recogonise all of the different coins. Can you count them in groups? Counting in in 1ps, 2ps, 5ps and 10ps should be pretty easy. Can you count in 50ps and 20ps too?

All of our learning this week will be using the White Rose website. The activities for this week are still free to download.  https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-3/  This week, we are on week 3 (4th May).

Term 4 - Maths - Multiplication and Division

This term, we have been finishing our unit on Multiplication and Division. Miss Dicks will upload extra activities on Doodle Maths. Please encourage your child to keep using TT Rockstars regularly. There is also a pack below which your child can work through.

In the packs that were sent home were the 3 NFER maths papers that the children sat in Term 3. Get a different coloured pen and see if your child can make any corrections now they know a lot more! If there are any questions they don't understand, it would be great if parents or older siblings could explain them.

We haven't covered fractions yet at school but you could do some activities at home to explain that finding fractions is like sharing. You could ask your child to cut different piece of fruit or food in halves, quarters or thirds.
