Week beginning 19th October

We are continuing our maths focus of addition and subtraction this week. 

You can find the home learning lessons by following the link below which will take you to the White Rose Maths website, we are currently working on Week 7. 

The children will be given a weekly number challenge quiz in Year 2.  The idea is to increase their mental maths speed.  They will be given one section of the above questions and 3 minutes to complete as many as they can.  Initially they will not be expected to complete all the questions. The following week they will be given the same sheet and be encouraged to try to answer more than the previous week.  When a child gets every question correct in one session, they will be given the next set of questions the following week.

I have put several of these on the website above for you to see.  You are welcome to practise these at home with your child if you wish but there is no expectation that you do so. 

We will begin on Set A and work through in alphabetical order. There is a strong emphasis on the fact that it does not matter what set a child is on, only that they are improving each week.
