Maths

This week, we will continue using the White Rose resources but everything has been downloaded ready for you below. You can either print the worksheets off to complete or write the answers in a book or on paper.

In maths this week, we will be measuring mass and capacity. Before you start, you could measure different objects on a set of kitchen scales. Can you work out how many grams are in a kilogram? Then, find a measuring jug and measure out different amounts of water (it's extra fun if you put food colouring in water to make it different colours!). Do you know how many millilitres are in a litre?

Try to do Doodle Maths every day!

Last week, Year 3 were the top class!

Well done! Can we keep it up this week?

Monday 6th July

Today, we will be measuring mass. Before you start the lesson, it would useful to try and find something at home that weighs 1kg (perhaps a bag of rice) and something that weighs a very small amount of grams (perhaps a mini packet of sweets). Holding these and comparing them will help develop your understanding of the relationship between grams and kilograms.

Use a ruler to draw the arrows on the scales for question 2 on the worksheet.

Tuesday 7th July

Today, we will be  comparing mass.

For question 7 on the worksheet, please write down your explanation underneath.

After the lesson, you might want to try this online game. It starts off simply but soon builds up to some very challenging questions!
