English

This week, we will continue using the Oak Academy for our English lessons. On their website, you will watch a video of a lesson taught by a teacher. Then, you be given some activities to have a go at.

These lessons will build up skills throughout the unit and you will produce a final written piece in lesson 5. Use the button in the right hand corner of the screen to navigate between sections of the lesson. You can pause the video and come back to it at any point.

If you have not finished last week's lessons, please finish those off first before starting a new unit. Remember to take a photo of your final piece every Friday to email in.

Don't forget the brilliant e-books on Bug Club.

Monday 8th June

To warm up your brain today, do some Doodle English.

For this lesson, you will need a piece of paper and a pencil. Then, click the play button to watch the video. When you have listened to the input and watched Miss Emm's model on how to write the answer, you will need to pause the video to write down your answer. Then, play the video again to check your answers for any marvellous mistakes.

Lesson 3: Identify key features of character description

Lesson 4: To identify and use Expanded Noun Phrases

Friday 12th June

For this lesson, you will be writing a character description. Make sure you write really neatly on lined paper. Don't forget to use capital letters and full stops. Maybe you can challenge yourself to include an exclamation mark!

Lesson 5: To write a character description of the White Elephant

When you have finished and checked it, ask your parents to take a photo and email to Mrs Bertenshaw on the Year 2 email address. She can't wait to see your amazing writing!
