This week, our English lessons will use the Oak Academy website. You will be able to watch a video of a teacher who will teach you some new concepts and give you some work to do. You will need to get a sharp pencil and lined paper ready each day.
These lessons will build up skills throughout the unit and you will produce a final written piece in lesson 5.
Use the button in the right hand corner of the screen to navigate between sections of the lesson. You can pause the video and come back to it at any point.

Monday 1st June
For this lesson, you will need a piece of paper and a pencil. Then click the play button to watch the video. When you have listened to the input and watched the teacher model how to write the answer, you will need to pause the video to write down your answer. Then, play the video again to check your answers for any marvellous mistakes.

Tuesday 2nd June
Click the link below and then press the play button to watch the video. You will need to pause the video to practise writing the spellings on the screen. When you have finished, press play to continue. After the teacher has talked through each multiple-choice question, you will need to pause the video. This gives you the chance to write down all 4 possible answers, just like she has done in her workbook and tick the answer you think is correct.

Wednesday 3rd June
To warm your brain up, have a go at these spellings.
For this lesson, you will need a piece of paper and a pencil. Then click the play button to watch the video. You will need to pause the video to practise writing the spellings on the screen. When you have finished, press play to continue. After listening to the input, you will need to pause the video.
You then have 2 options:
Option 1 – copy out the instructions and label the different features of instructions using the number key on the screen.
Option 2 – point to the different features of instructions on your screen and say what these are aloud.

Thursday 4th June
Make sure you have your pencil and paper ready!
After listening to the input you will need to pause the video.
You then have 2 options:
Option 1 – copy out the instructions and identify the different types of adverbs by underlining or circling them.
Option 2 – point to the different types of adverbs on your computer screen and say aloud what type of adverbs they are.
Lesson 4: To identify and use adverbs
Friday 5th June
Today you will be writing your own set of instructions. You might like to pause the video when you see the ‘Star Words’ and write these down to help you when you are writing your instructions.
When you have finished, edit your writing carefully. Remember to write really neatly. Use a sharp pencil. Don't forget to check your capital letters and full stops when you have finished.
